Nikkia Pannell

Nikkia grew up in Pasadena and now resides in Long Beach. Excited to learn more about literature she went to UC Santa Barbara and pursued degrees in English and Comparative Literature. During college she got a job at The Santa Barbara Natural History Museum as the Lead Seasonal Teacher. Nikkia wrote the curriculum and led the classes focused on nature and exploration. From there she has built her career on working with students to find learning accessible and fun.

After moving from Santa Barbara Nikkia moved to Hollywood and became the Lead Preschool teacher at The Canyon School, where she focused on the growth and love of learning within her classroom. Nikkia wanted to pursue her original passions of literature and composition and applied to Chapman University where she obtained a Master’s in English. During her last year, Nikkia got a job at Orange County School of the Arts as a Creative Writing teacher. She also worked as a Paraeducator for Special Services for a few years. Nikkia’s position in Special Services focuses on learners with ADHD, Autism, and Processing Disorders. Her specialties include literature and composition, history, environmental sciences, organization, mindfulness, executive functioning, and study skills.

If Nikkia isn’t teaching you can find her: reading, refining her archery skills, playing D&D or videogames, getting ready for Halloween, or staying too long in museums.
