Mrs. Hartman was born and raised in Germany where she attended Hamburg University and obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science and African Studies/Linguistics. She also holds an AA degree in Communications/Journalism from Glendale Community College in Glendale, CA. She has been been living in the U.S. for the past 15 years teaching German to a variety of students ranging from elementary school up to post college. Mrs Hartman has been teaching and tutoring in various settings including a private Orange County language school. She is finishing her graduate degree this year. Her delight is to see students become passionate about acquiring a new language and leaning fully excited into a new culture. She loves using real life examples for cross cultural learning to make the German language and culture come alive. One of her greatest joys is seeing lots of laughter in the classroom as students learn new words and phrases and become confident communicators in German. Mrs. Hartman is a homeschooling mom of of three children who are fluent in English, German and (thanks to Arbor, hopefully soon) Spanish! In her spare time Ms Hartman enjoys trying out new vegan recipes, reading good books with a cup of tea, and taking the kids to the beach or for nature walks.
