A native New Yorker, Mark Wilson earned his Bachelor’s in Filmmaking from Purchase College and his Master’s in Early Childhood and Special Education from Brooklyn College. Mr. Wilson was a classroom teacher for three years in New York City before moving to rural Alaska, where he spent more than a decade teaching and exploring the arctic landscape. Mr. Wilson’s teaching experience includes all grade levels from Pre-K through adult education. He has worked as a classroom teacher, a Resource Room teacher, and as a co-teacher for Language Arts and Math classes in middle and high school. He also ran a Gifted & Talented program for two years in Alaska and taught screenwriting to undergraduate students.
A lifelong learner, Mr. Wilson moved to Los Angeles in 2018, where he earned a Master’s in Screenwriting from UCLA. He is passionate about reading and writing, especially children’s literature. He loves working with students to explore the world and develop their ideas through their own reading and writing journeys.
