Jenny Mitchell

Teacher

Ms. Mitchell was born in Peru and was raised in Southern California. She discovered her love for sewing at age five and her love for this creative art form continues today. She began learning with private sewing lessons and continued in high school and college programs for sewing, receiving an Associates Degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

After her schooling, she launched her career as a visual merchandiser for Forever 21. At the same time she began teaching for the Garden Grove Unified School District in the visual and performing arts department. While teaching and working in merchandising, she realized that she was missing her love of sewing and chose to make a career change to working at David’s Bridal. After five years in the bridal industry, she decided to combine both of her loves and has now been a sewing instructor for two years!

In her spare time, Ms. Mitchell keeps up with fashion trends, sews, and spends time with her cats. Occasionally she can get really wild and combine all three–making cute outfits for her cats!

Ms. Mitchell is anticipating a fabulous first year teaching with The Arbor Learning Community.
