Ms. Perez is a native southern Californian and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. She worked as a materials engineer/chemist for seven years at the Space Systems Division of Rockwell International until the birth of her first child. Since then, she has stayed home with her four children and has homeschooled for nearly 15 years. Ms. Perez has a passion for teaching math and science and has experience teaching elementary through high school age students. She has taught Rockwell Summer Science Camp workshops, Biola Youth Academics courses, and numerous homeschool science co-op groups throughout her years of homeschooling. Ms. Perez believes in a hands-on investigative approach to teaching science and loves to incorporate fun activities into her lessons aimed at making the more difficult scientific concepts understandable to students with different learning styles. Helping students connect science to everyday life applications is something she really finds rewarding.

Ms. Perez resides in Brea with her husband, four children, now all in their teens, and their golden retriever, Abby. In her spare time, Ms. Perez enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, camping, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
